Laparoscopic Procedures

Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that uses tiny incisions to insert a camera in the belly button and usually two other tiny incisions on the left and right lower quadrants of the belly to insert two other instruments to perform the following multiple procedures under general anesthesia:

Laparoscopic Ophorocystectomy – removal of an ovarian cyst. It may be unilateral (on one ovary) or bilateral (on both ovaries).

Laparoscopic Myomectomy – removal of a benign tumor in the muscle of the uterus. It may be a singular or multiple myomectomy.

Laparoscopic Hysterectomy – removal of the uterus

Laparoscopic Oophorectomy – removal of the ovary. It may be unilateral (on one ovary) or bilateral (on both ovaries).

Laparoscopic Salpingectomy – removal of the Fallopian tube. It may be unilateral or bilateral.
